Who do I write like?

Okay, so there's a site called Who Do I Write Like that takes a sample of your writing and analyzes it to see who you write like. I decided to input a number of my blog posts and see what it said. The results were kind of interesting. Apparently, I write like an awful lot of different people. It makes me wonder, when believers in the Documentary Hypothesis use literary analysis to conclude that the Torah had multiple authors, whether they've ever tried analyzing their own writing.

(It also makes me wonder whether I should actually try reading something by James Joyce.)

ROFL. One of Rabbi Hertz's essays in his Humash, I forget which one, shows that there is a particular author - I forget who - who wrote in a different style in different parts of his life. He also quotes a sentence from a notable author - I forget who - in which mid-sentence, the author accidentally changes tense and plural. Rabbi Hertz's point is that even if the Torah has internal contradictions - which he denies, of course, but he's playing devil's advocate - even so, internal contradictions do not indicate multiple authors. Thus, he says, the Torah could have one author - okay, a human author, according to his devil's advocacy - who simply wrote with inconsistency.

The comment of mine above seems to be written like Stephenie Meyer, the author of Twilight.

The above sentence, ending with "Twilight" is also written like Meyer!

But the second sentence above is written like H. P. Lovecraft.

And the sentence, "But the second sentence above is written like H. P. Lovecraft." is itself Lovecraftian.

But the entire sentence, "And the sentence, 'But the second sentence above is written like H. P. Lovecraft.' is itself Lovecraftian." is written like Stephen King.

And the entire sentence above is also like Stephen King.

And with my just previous sentence, I am like James Joyce.

Okay, I'll stop now, but I'll note this present sentence is like J. D. Salinger.
